Abstract

In 2019 the target of achieving Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR) was 66%. The average number of KB participants (injections and pills) the last 3 months in Puskesmas Tangkiling was 52.46% (117), while the Fertile Aged Couple who has not used KB as has 47.35%. Aim of this study is to know the description of the factors affect the choice of contraception plan for the third trimester pregnant women. It was a qualitative research with semi structure interviews. The subject of research was the third trimester pregnant women. The study was conducted August 20-21 2018. Each respondent was interviewed 30 minutes. The results were documented and analyzed with thematic content analiysis. The result of the research shows that knowledge, age, level of education, number of children alive, affect the choice plan of contraceptive, and a factor that does not affect is economy. Knowledge, age , level of education and number of children alive, affect the choice of contraception plan for the third trimester pregnant women. Third trimester pregnant women are suggested to use contraception either to regulate birth or to stop pregnancy. Keywords: The third trimester pregnant women, the choice, contraception.
